This morning we docked in Honolulu which is the capital of the "Aloha State." While Larry stayed on the ship to watch football, I took a tour called 'The Natural Wonders of Hawaii.' As we got off the ship we were greeted with alohas and beautiful leis. The tour began with a drive through the downtown area and past Waikiki Beach on the way to the crater at Diamond Head. Formed more than 100,000 years ago, the crater was used as a strategic military lookout in the early 1900's and was named a National Natural Landmark in 1968. Diamond Head Crater From there we took a very scenic route to Eternity Beach (used in the film From Here to Eternity) and the Halona Blowhole Lookout. After taking photos we then drove to Sea Life Park where we were served a yummy local treat called a Volcano Dole Whip Blitz. It's like a pineapple soft serve and it's very light and refreshing.
